Frequently Asked Questions

  • When we begin working together, we’ll discuss your goals and regularly assess your progress. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll ensure our sessions continue to feel beneficial and aligned with your needs. Some people work through a specific concern in a shorter period of time, while others may choose to engage in longer-term work. When it feels like your goals have been met—or you're ready to pause—we’ll take time to reflect on your progress, reinforce the growth you’ve made, and bring our work to a thoughtful and meaningful close.

  • My rate is $250 per 45-minute therapy session.

  • Yes. I offer in-person sessions on Mondays and Fridays at my Washington, D.C. office (4910 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Suite 223). The office is just blocks from American University and a short drive from Georgetown.

Parking is available in several forms:

    • Free zoned street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood (please check signs for restrictions).

    • A paid parking lot is located on the side of the building, charging $4 per hour.

Public transportation is also convenient—Metrobus routes M4, N2, N4, and N6 all have stops close to the office.

I offer virtual therapy sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.

  • Most likely! I’m licensed to provide telehealth services through PSYPACT (the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact), which allows licensed psychologists to practice across state lines in participating states (without needing separate licenses in each one.)

If you live in a PSYPACT-participating state, I can work with you virtually.

As of January 2025, PSYPACT includes the following states and jurisdictions:

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

  • I do not accept insurance. I am paid directly at the time of service and offer convenient credit card billing. My invoices contain all the necessary information for you to file claims for your reimbursement.

The easiest way to determine your benefits is to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:

What is the reimbursement rate for out-of-network therapy?
Ask for the specific percentage or amount reimbursed for out-of-network therapy sessions. Some plans may reimburse a portion of the session cost, while others may reimburse only a set amount per session.

What is my deductible for out-of-network mental health services?
Inquire about the deductible for out-of-network therapy. Often, clients will need to meet this deductible before receiving reimbursement for therapy sessions.

How much will I be reimbursed after I meet my deductible?
Once the deductible is met, ask about the reimbursement rate. Some insurance companies may cover 60%, 70%, or 80% of the session fee after the deductible is reached.

Do you cover therapy sessions based on a set fee schedule?
Some insurance companies set a standard fee they are willing to reimburse, regardless of what the provider charges. Ask if your insurance uses a fee schedule and what that rate is for therapy services.

Do I have a flex spending or health savings account that I can use for further savings?

  • I do not prescribe medication. However, if you're interested in a medication consultation or if we determine that it may be helpful in managing certain symptoms, I can provide a referral. I work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other providers to ensure your care is well-coordinated and comprehensive.
